One Sunday noon, I had lunch at Pesto Autentico, another italian restaurant in town. It was lunch time, but it wasn't crowded at all. I sat in the non-smoking area, filled with wooden chairs & tables. From my table, I could see through the kitchen, quite interesting eh?

So, what did I order?
First, Gnocchi al Pesto. Why Gnocchi? I was just curious actually, since I watched Junior Masterchef AU, the Italian twins Isabella & Sofia used to make various pasta, including gnocchi.
And why pesto? I just love pesto sauce, and because the restaurant name is Pesto.

So, according to wikipedia, Gnocchi are various thick, soft dumplings. After I tasted it, actually I disliked those glutinous, and tasteless gnocchi stuffs. But I gotta admit, the pesto sauce is good! Apparently for me, pesto shouldn't be with any pasta but spaghetti.
Next one was, Calzone Ai Funghi e Prosciutto from the pizza section. According to wikipedia (again), calzone is made of ingredients similar to pizza folded over and shaped like a crescent. The calzone was filled with mozzarella, cooked ham, & mushrooms. My first impression... it was similar to a giant pastel (giant panada abang said...)

The calzone was quite good. If only the bread was softer, I would like it better ☺
Mozzarella + Ham + Mushrooms were a great combination.

The last one was Penne Con Polpette. Actually I ordered Fettuccine Con Polpette, but the one who took the order apparently misheard my order. I was going to complain, but Abang said it was okay.

The meatballs were tasty, yum yum, porky meatballs, too bad there were only four, and they were not big enough for me :p The pasta sauce was sour and a bit hot, quite tasty.
Overall, Pesto Autentico wasn't bad after all, but not the kind of restaurant that I will visit regularly ☺
