Hong Kong: Yue - OpenRice Be My Guest Super Reviewers Campaign Luncheon

Hari kedua saya di Hong Kong sebagian besar diisi dengan acara bersama OpenRice, acara yang berhubungan dengan perut pastinya. Siang itu diadakan acara makan siang bersama tim OpenRice Hong Kong dan para pemenang OpenRice Be My Guest - Super Reviewers Campaign dari beberapa negara yang berpartisipasi. Acara makan siang diadakan di Yue, sebuah restoran Cantonese dengan satu bintang Michelin yang berada di City Garden Hotel. Restoran ini cukup ramai pada jam makan siang, dan menurut teman semeja saya yang merupakan pemenang dari Hong Kong, restoran ini memang cukup populer.


Saya duduk manis di meja yang sudah ditentukan, menanti makan siang saya disajikan satu per satu.

Steamed Shrimp Dumpling, Deep Fried Taro Dumpling Stuffed with Cheese and Seafood, Cherry Tomatoes in Pomelo Vinegar, Honey-Glazed Barbecued Pork, Wok-fried Wagyu Beef Cubes with Garlic Chips, Deep-fried Eggplant Stuffed with Minced Pork in Garlic Crisp 

Untuk hidangan pembuka, disajikan beberapa 6 macam dengan ukuran small bites. All tasted good! Let's take a closer look.

Wok-fried Wagyu Beef Cubes with Garlic Chips, Cherry Tomatoes in Pomelo Vinegar

Daging sapi wagyu berbentuk dadu ini rasanya pas, bumbunya meresap ke dalam walaupun dagingnya tebal. Dagingnya sendiri cukup lembut, walau ada sedikit bagian lemak yang tidak bisa dikunyah.

Honey-Glazed Barbecued Pork,  Deep Fried Taro Dumpling Stuffed with Cheese and Seafood

Honey Glazed Barbecued Pork-nya juga enak, dengan rasa manis dan tekstur gurih pada bagian luarnya.

Baked Crab Shell Stuffed with Fresh Crab Meat and Onion

Crispy Fried Prawns Coated with Pomelo Sauce

Sebenarnya yang tercantum pada menu makan siang hari itu adalah Baked Crab Shell Stuffed with Fresh Crab Meat and Onion, namun karena saya alergi kepiting *sobbing* menu saya diganti dengan Crispy Fried Prawns Coated with Pomelo Sauce. Udangnya crunchy dan ukuranya cukup besar, dengan saus pomelo yang rasanya asam dan manis. Tasty!

Seared Star Garoupa Fillet with Fish Maw on Egg Whites with Truffle Sauce
(Gold with Distinction Award at Best of the Best Culinary Awards 2010)

Here comes the celebrity dish of Yue! Seared Star Garoupa Fillet with Fish Maw on Egg Whites with Truffle Sauce yang bahkan pernah menang Gold with Distinction Award - Best of the Best Culinary Awards 2010. Menu ini terdiri dari 3 layer telur dengan fillet ikan garoupa di atasnya. 3 Layer telur yang ada terdiri dari warna yang berbeda, yang paling atas berwarna orange karena mengandung wortel, layer kedua kehijauan karena mengandung bayam, dan layer paling bawah pure putih telur. Layer-layer telur ini teksturnya lembut dan warm. Ikan garoupa-nya sendiri crispy di luar, tekstur dagingnya kenyal namun mudah dikunyah, perfect. What a unique and tasty dish!

Smoked Chicken with Fragrant Tea Leaves and Soy Sauce

Ayamnya lembut, dengan rasa asin yang dominan, pastinya karena menggunakan soy sauce. Kulit ayamnya tebal tapi nikmat, such a guilty pleasure.

Fried Rice with Shrimps, Conpoys and Mushrooms in Abalone Sauce Wrapped with Lotus Leaf

Nasi gorengnya dikemas di dalam daun teratai, untuk rasa nasinya tidak terlalu cocok dengan lidah saya, seperti ada rasa yang agak asing.

Chilled Sago Sweet Soup with Osmanthus Jelly Cubes

Menu dessert ini terlihat seperti teh jika dilihat sekilas, namun ternyata bukan. Rasanya manis dan segar, dengan potongan-potongan jelly kecil di dalamnya, dengan aroma osmanthus yang unik. Refreshing!

Memang, rasa makanan di Yue ini memuaskan, tidak heran jika restoran ini sempat memenangkan beberapa penghargaan dan ramai pengunjung. It was such a wonderful experience with OpenRice Hong Kong, I couldn't be more thankful for the opportunity!
