Slice of Heaven (Grand Indonesia)

Pada kunjungan terakhir saya ke Grand Indonesia, saya mampir ke Slice of Heaven, salah satu restoran yang terbilang masih cukup baru dan berada di bawah naungan PT EN Prima Food yang juga menaungi En Dining, Q Billiard, dan Pesto Autentico. Slice of Heaven terletak di lantai 5 yang kini memang dipenuhi oleh berbagai tempat makan.

Sejujurnya, saya kurang dapat menangkap keseluruhan konsep interiornya, di sebagian sisi didominasi warna pastel, juga kayu, di lain sisi didominasi warna abu-abu juga tidak ber-ceiling, namun secara keseluruhan susasananya masih cukup nyaman untuk duduk-duduk dan menikmati makanan.

Slice of Heaven menyajikan menu yang cukup beragam, berupa campuran dari menu Asian dan Western. Kurang lebih menunya terbagi atas appetizers & salads, all day breakfast, toast & sandwich, pancake & waffle, main course yang terdiri dari pasta, rice, & lunch set, serta pizza dan beberapa menu desserts. Dan inilah beberapa makanan dan minuman yang saya coba di Slice of Heaven.

Your ordinary but refreshing glass of lemon tea.

Spaghetti Mentaiko - IDR 85,000 ++

I felt like eating pasta that day, and ordered this Spaghetti Mentaiko which was explained on the menu as Italian spaghetti with Japanese spicy cod fish roe.

So this was kinda unique, secara keseluruhan rasanya asin dan agak creamy. Buat saya rasanya masih lumayan enjoyable, namun terasa terlalu fishy untuk teman saya.

Smoked Pork Salad - IDR 85,000 ++

Our next order was this Smoked Pork Salad consisted of vegetables, sliced smoked pork, aioli dressing (garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, egg yolk, etc). Selain sayuran dan smoked pork, salad ini juga disajikan dengan keju dan garlic bread. Porsinya cukup generous, sayurannya segar, the smoked pork was tender and yummy, a nice salad to share.

Brownies Tower - IDR 65,000 ++

We finished our meal at Slice of Heaven with this Brownies Tower - mini cut warm brownies, cold fresh milk.

These warm brownie pieces tasted quite good. Dip it with milk, pour the milk on the brownie, or eat them separately, you choose. But overall, it wasn't that special compared to the other brownie I've tried before.

I think this place was nice, but I feel like something is still lacking. Price wise, it was quite pricey, but most restaurants set their price more or less similarly these days. Have you visited this place? What do you think about Slice of Heaven?
