I visited my friend for lunch at her office building, and she suggested this place called POKENBIR. Another friend has told me about this place before, so I just said yes. POKENBIR, located on the ground floor of Lippo Kuningan building offers mostly pork on its menu.
It was weekday, lunch time, and this mostly brown with dim light restaurant was quite packed.
POKENBIR signatures are their Pork Belly and Roasted Pork Knuckle, but you should order in advance 1 day before for their Pork Knuckle. Their other menus consist of Indonesian style cooking with pork, like Nasi Campur Pork ala Sumatera, Nasi Pork ala Dabu-Dabu / Woku / Rica. Non-pork menus are also available, but hey, of course I tried ther pork menu.
Pork Noodle with Gravy - IDR 45,000
First, I tried this Pork Noodle with Gravy. Basically it was like 'mie tek-tek' with pork. Well, I love mie tek tek, and I love pork, so the combination was going quite well for me. The pork chunks were quite thick and plenty.
Pokenbir Mix Platter (M) - IDR 200,000
I also had their Pokenbir Mix Platter, in medium size. This platter consisted of their signature Pork Belly, Butter Miso Grilled Pork, Caramelized Grilled Pork, Pork Satay, and french fries. They also have this platter in small size.
Pokenbir Mix Platter (M)
My favorites should be the Pork Belly and the Caramelized Grilled Pork. The Pork Belly was thick with crispy top, and their Caramelized Grilled Pork was fatty and sweet.
The platter came with these sauces.
Overall I had a pleasant porxperience (I mean pork eating experience) here, I can't say the best, but this place worth a try. I would love to go back and tried their Pork Knuckle.
