Dimsum Time at TIM HO WAN


Ketika mendengar TIM HO WAN membuka cabang pertamanya di Indonesia beberapa waktu lalu, saya tidak terlalu excited dan tidak serta merta langsung turut meramaikan antrian di tempat ini karena toh saya pikir sebelumnya sudah pernah mencoba dimsum di tempat ini  ketika berkunjung ke Hong Kong. Akhirnya beberapa waktu lalu saya mampir juga ke restoran TIM HO WAN yang berada di area Pantai Indah Kapuk ini.

Let's head straight to the food since I didn't take any pictures of the interior (which was simple, clean, and nice). Menu TIM HO WAN Indonesia kurang lebih sama dengan yang ada di Hong Kong, walaupun memang ada beberapa menu yang tidak dibawa ke Indonesia, namun menu-menu dimsum utama dan juga Big 4 Heavenly Kings dari TIM HO WAN  bisa kita coba di sini.


Congee with Pork, Century Egg & Salted Egg - IDR 33,800

Saya memulai acara nge-dimsum sore saya dengan semangkok bubur untuk dishare. Porsinya tidak terlalu besar, mungkin pas untuk berdua atau bertiga kalau memesan banyak menu dimsum lainnya.


TIM HO WAN tidak menyediakan saus sambal botolan, yang ada hanya saus sambal seperti gambar di atas.

Baked Bun with BBQ Pork - IDR 43,800

Bakpau panggang berisikan babi bbq ini merupakan salah satu dari Big 4 Heavenly Kings di TIM HO WAN.

Kesan saya tentang si Baked Bun tenar ini masih sama, crispy and sweet outside, tapi berpadu baik dengan daging babi bbq yang tender di dalamnya. Still not my favorite dimsum menu since the buns are sweet, but I love this kinda bun better than the ordinary one.

Steamed Spinach Dumpling with Shrimp  - IDR 26,800

Kalau bosan dengan hakau biasa, mungkin kalian bisa mencoba hakau yang berisi udang dan bayam ini. The spinach texture worked well with the crunchinss of the shrimp. At least I felt a bit healthier because of the spinach, or no?

Beancurd Skin Roll with Shrimp - IDR 38,800

Lumpia kulit tahu-nya juga enak, hanya saja saya kurang menyukai beancurd skin-nya yang menurut saya terlalu tebal dan renyah.

Beef Ball with Beancurd Skin - IDR 33,800

The beef ball was also nice and delicious.

Steamed Fish Maw with Prawn Paste - IDR 36,800

Dari kesemua yang saya coba, rasa-rasanya menu ini yang jadi favorit saya hari itu. Saya menyukai tekstur fish maw (perut ikan) yang kenyal namun rasanya gurih dan berpadu baik dengan prawn paste di atasnya. Kalau kalian juga suka fish maw, kalian patut mencoba menu ini.

Kesemua menu yang saya coba di sini rasanya cukup memuaskan, tapi buat saya masih ada restoran dimsum lain yang dari segi rasa lebih memuaskan dengan harga yang kurang lebih sama atau bahkan lebih murah.
